Police say two men were arrested for vandalizing flags memorializing Idaho’s fallen soldiers. Early Sunday morning police say two men were spotted by Statehouse security guards knocking over flags. Today’s 6 has learned the two men are the sons of State Senator Mike Burkett.

Yeah he’s a Democrat.

From Wikipedia’s entry on F. Michael “Mike” Burkett, Jr.:

F. Michael “Mike” Burkett, Jr. (born June 7, 1948 in Keosauqua, Iowa) is an attorney and Democratic politician from Idaho. He currently serves as the Assistant Minority Leader of the Idaho State Senate.

I’m sure the father has nothing to do with it…but where, then, did his kids learn such disrespect?

This asshat was born in Iowa? On behalf of the entire state (Red & Blue both), I’d like to apologize to the State of Idaho & the entire Nation.

I’m not taking the heat for the fact that he’s an attorney. That’s Michael’s bag, not mine.

A Democrat AND a spudder? That’s two strikes. He’s out.

My jaw just dropped. They didn’t say how old the son was, but he looked in his early 20’s, which makes it all the worse.

If he was a teenager, I might at least give him the teen idiot slack.

Sons of Democrat Senator Michael Burkett Arrested for Vandalizing Iraq War memorial

The fact that the father of Army Spc. Brandon T. Titus has to publicly ask the Burkett family to apologize is all we need to know. That and the fact that the Democrat Senator is making excuses instead. This is a disgusting slap in the face to the memor…

First the Phelps gang “protested” Cpl Carrie French’s funeral, then the sons of a state senator vandalize a flag placed in her honor.

I don’t know which nauseates me more.

Note how the media neglected to mention Burkett’s political affiliation.

I am a combat veteran, fresh from Iraq, and the first news from family that I get upon my return is this. I am appalled at such behavior from my cousins – especially considering that their father is a USAF Academy graduate. They should know better and should be held accountable for their actions. If not – they can answer to me at the next family reunion.

Check out the video of the, “vandalism.” It had nothing to do with the flags, so you can all be soothed.

Soothe me, Erin. Or better yet, enlighten me. The first video I saw showed the flagpoles bent completely over with the flags dragging on the ground. To which subversive Girl Scout troop did you belong????
