I have it on good authority that Van Halen picked their tour back up, and that one of our beloved friends might be attending tonight.
A girl’s night out.
So I’m sending them well wishes, along with a vid of the fav VH cover that I covered for years.
No. I cannot do that DLR screech. Never could. He can’t either though, now, so there.
That might have been the bestest Toyota commercial eveh.
I just found a website through which I can order Harry Potter und der Gefangene von Askaban, from the US (so don’t have to pay international shipping). One of my projects this summer is to brush up on my German. I have a copy of Der kleine Hobbit, but the problem is that it tries to capture the flavor of the original Tolkien, and he used archaic English, so it’s kind of hard to understand. (I did learn the word “Zauberer” [wizard] from it, though.) But I think that reading HP auf Deutsch will help me. It was actually the boy’s idea, but he never got around to ordering any books.
Son and I are gonna work on Japanese this summer – daughter and I are going to do French. Haven’t done French since my first semester of college, so I need a refresher.
I’m gonna learn Lakota this summer. Yeah, Lakota. Then I’m gonna visit the res to teach them Lutheranism. Just you wait.
Thanks to DinTX, BTW, for the power-link from Ace. You pushed me past 50K.
I’m gonna learn Lakota this summer.
You should study Laconic instead. There’s much less to learn.
I think my brain is badly programmed in regards to foreign languages. I don’t have the faintest idea how to pronounce, for instance, “le loup-garou,” but “Mynydd Ceiswyn” doesn’t give me the slightest pause. (Roughly: “Munuth Kice-oo-in.” No, I am not making that up.)
(le loup-garou is a werewolf, and Mynydd Ceiswyn is a mountain in Snowdonia.)
ugh, stupid second fundamental theorem. Ah, screw it. This homework is optional anyway. I’m going to go work on my report instead.

How come Dave knows what the girls are doing and I don’t?
I hate Dave in Texas.

Yeah, screw it. If you ever have to use that stupid theorem to, you know, design a space craft or something, just wing it. Make something up.
denada geoff. it was a good post.
Michael. I has my sources.
Yeah, well so do I. Van Halen is in Cincinnati, KC is missing, and her miniblinds are closed.
What’s that tell you?
It tells me you can catch up.
I totally went to VH last night. And I asked Dave about some guitar lore so I could be prepared, so he knew I went.
Not a very good show. Acoustics were horrible and the band was not very tight. DLR didn’t even sing much.
Seems to me they propped Eddie Van Halen up in front of the drum set, put a Strat in his hands, and his reflexes took over. None of the same antics and hijinks from back in the day. I think the boys are just tired out.

Yeah, they been doing the same thing with Keith Richards since 1989. Personally I think he’s a zombie. A zombie who digs open G tuning.
