Especially the Marines.
Somewhat surprising — given that we keep hearing how they are losing a pointless war in Iraq.
WASHINGTON - The Marine Corps far surpassed its recruiting goal last month and could eventually be more than a year ahead of schedule in its plan to grow the force to 202,000 members.
All military services met or exceeded their monthly recruiting goals in April, with the Marine Corps signing 142 percent of the number it was looking for, the Pentagon said.

I think it has something to do with the uniforms. When I was in that uniform would make all of the ladies swoon.
I have it to blame for many lovely nights.
I guess this is another one of the “glorious triumphs” the terrorists have been having that we read about in the MSM.
As for the uniforms, all I had was the solid green with the black stripe down the legs.I never bought dress blues (never needed them), though my brother has his.
Actually all you really need is “I am / was a marine”, and to keep in fairly decent physical shape.

So, does the Reserves count?
And, yes, I ended up as an O-3 (CPT) in Transportation. That was one of the things that helped me through college.

How about those Brewers, sir!
Heh. Well. Things went against the Noble Side last night
I blame Izzy
Mr. Kennedy certainly didn’t help your cause. Neither did Molina but I can understand his frustration as the quality of umpiring seems to continue on a downward spiral. I don’t mind the strike zone being a little different from umpire to umpire but when it seems to change 3 times during the game, that is just pathetic. Plus the Cards ran themselves out of a lot of opportunities. Be that as it may, Albert Pujols is a god.
BTW, I forgot.

sorry.
Yeah. AK will probably go down as a bust acquisition. This has been a rough patch, though I wonder if this is a case of regression to the mean.
Usually, Yadi is calm and collected. I get the feeling it was just a case of frustration boiling over.
