I Have Mad Phototaking Skillz!

I Have Mad Phototaking Skillz!

Well, indoors at least.

Inside The Linnean House, whatever that is.

Inside The Linnean House, Whatever That Is.

My parents bought my wife and I a membership to the Missouri Botanical Garden, so that we can go anytime, instead of on Saturday Mornings, when it is free, and get a bunch of other privileges. My daughter loves going there, especially to see the Holiday train exhibit, and tour other related displays. This year, the trains were supposed to be going through a Vermont Winter, complete with live plants.

Missing: Howard Dean

Recently, my daughter has been referencing a “baby sister”, which may be news to me. My wife hasn’t said anything of the sort, and her recent shopping for 4 year old clothes, and no newborn stuff, would indicate that might be a pipe dream. But I am usually the last to find out, so who knows? Anyway, if Little Princess is indeed going to be a big sister (again, I am out of the loop on this one), she may need to improve her baby handling skills.

I enjoyed the day as well. Seeing my daughter’s eyes sparkle at the flowers and trains was worth it. My only beef was with her wanting to eat at the restaurant at the Garden, which is expensive, instead of a place on the outside. Three bites into her kiddie sandwich, she lost interest. So, not wanting to see food (and money) go to waste, I had to eat basically two lunches. But it was good food, so I guess it’s all worth it.

Good thing I am not on a diet.

I still call it Shaw’s Gardens, which is old-school St. Louis. Love that place.

I am fortunate that I live only minutes away.

My daughter calls it Shaw’s Garden as well. She must have picked it up from my dad.

One of the best things going on now is that the Tower Grove area is undergoing a huge revival. A ton of trustfunder 20 somethings are moving into the Morganford portion of Tower Grove near Arsenal, and rehabbing the old houses there. Fairly trendy restaurants and coffee shops are popping up all over the place, and the park itself now hosts a Farmer’s Market all summer.

Yesterday morning I checked on my camellia in the spare room and it has started to pop its buds too.

Shoulda fertilized it and put it in the front window but I forgotted.

Eddie, we were members of the MoBotanical Gardens while we lived there. Our home was not far from there on Halliday just east of Grand across from Tower Grove Park. We could walk to the gardens. Sometimes we rode our bikes with the kiddie-seats for the tikes.

ALWAYS enjoyed going there in the winter… walking into the buildings and smelling the wonderful fragrances of live plants! Miss that place.

My sister was a docent there about a quarter century ago until the Public Library recruited her. She still loves the place.

I thought it was OK.

eddie,
With just a bit of luck, you might be asked for your “input” on another kid.

I’ve yapped at eddie at least twice during his family road gatherings.

Eddie’s a PUSSY! when it comes to his kids.

Which is how it should be.

He should also be a pussy about his wife, cuz his wife is hot.

Have you seen eddie?

Have you seen his wife?

Yeah, Eddie better shit gold, cuz he’s in a world of wonderful with his wife and kids.

Anyone here interested in debating a member of Obama’s old church, Trinity United Church of Christ? I recently wrote a post about TUCC, and he came over to make some comments on the thread. He’s is trying to explain Reverend Wright’s sermons to me, and is being very respectful about it.

But I just don’t buy the “taken out of context” argument.
