Never dropped the grin for a minute, but did you catch the change at the corners of his eyes, and how the grin froze? He doesn’t owe a constituent an answer? What a disgrace.
But then so are all the thinly-veiled racist comments upthread. Criticize the man for his actions, not his skin color.
Fontbonne? I would hope you are not including me in the “thinly veiled racist” category. I am stating that Rangel is beneath a caning sarcastica;;y because I admire what Senator Sumner accomplished (I am a history nerd). I see Rangel as a man out for himself and not anything else.
Be careful before you judge other peoples motives.
All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. No one is righteous no not one. Judge not or you will be judge by the same measure thatyou judge others. If U.S. citizens were more actively involve inthe political process theywould understand whatis and how it works. Everyone from corporate executives to politicians take advantage of any perk thatis available and the rich are never satisfied. So they will not be shamed into doing what others think is right by the rude and disrepectful comment of some snot nosed kid who should be at work instead of nosing around in other peoples business. Rangel was right except for the blasphemous expletive.
The dems are in power, so they get the spotlight, and now we see they are hypocrites-tax cheats, but happy to raise taxes through various ‘green’ initiatives that will increase energy costs for everyone, fact is that THIS IS our “goddamn business”, we (not me) hired these crooks and they work for Americans, this is a perfect example of the ‘elected’ officials’ mindset. We should vote for all challengers in the upcoming elections to send a message…honesty and common sense will work better than self-interest and control based ideology
Nice form on the #2 cleanup, Dave. Concise, funny & you sure as hell stuck the dismount. If it weren’t for that damn Romanian judge you’d have a 6.0 fer sure.

Dear lord, these politicians really know how to lead the country, don’t they? Rangle paying a few hundred dollars for 3 New York City apartments…half of Obama’s cabinet nominees going down in back taxes…
And now, guess what, these criminals are gonna get themselves a handsome RAISE! Check out our new post on how Congress is gonna be laughing all the way to the bank!
I was going to laugh at Sobek’s comment, but I only got halfway through the first line before my attention was distracted by a squirrel playing in the soft maple tree out front.
Classy. Wish he was my Rep.
I’m pretty sure my rep could pummel his ass with an ivory handled cain. If that sort of stuff was still kosher in the house. Too bad.
Hey PG, the last person “caned” in the Capitol was a Senator from Massachusetts who denounced slavery. Senator Sumner was amazing.
My point? “Caning” is too good for a bastid like Rangel.

Can we get a cleanup in aisle 2?

I feel an odd urge to click #20′s link. I don’t know why. I can’t put my finger on it–but I really wish I could.
Oh man, a minute and 46 seconds? Can’t someone just write up a quick summary?

What was that again?
Absolutely beautiful.
Does he think the smile will save him from the wrath of angry citizens on the day of The Great Pushback™?

I don’t care about the “foul” language, I care that he thinks he doesn’t have to be held accountable.
as for “caning” being a racial remark, go fuck yourself.
Last time I heard about “caning” is when a white kid got his ass beaten for spraypainting a car in another country ran by brown people.
