Puking Lions With Lantana July 26, 2009

As long as we’re doing flower pictures:

Note that the pool boy is keeping that pool very clean
Lipstick’s picture of the puking lions, taken in early April when the lantana had just been planted, is here. They are perennials, and we have extended the sprinkler system into the Puking Lions Planter, so it is pretty much going to take care of itself (we hope).

Niiiiiice.
And nice pic!
I see a leaf at the bottom – better vacuum.

Fuck you. There is not a speck in that pool!
Great pool and pukers. Much better than the pisser dude statues in other pools. Did you say sprinkler system?

Why did the Urban Cowboy* have a brown nose?

He was looking for love in all the wrong places.
*Ok movie, great soundtrack.
Fuck you.
Sorry, not my type
Our place in Florida had a 30X20 gunite pool. Unfortunately, it was surrounded by live oaks. I took 3 out to open it up but, I swear, all I ever did was vacuum that sucker.
Live oaks anywhere near a pool are misery, especially in the spring.
Lantana pwns TX heat & drought. Best stuff I’ve ever planted, I think… It helps that it was one of the first things I planted at my house, so I take a certain degree of pride in the fact that I dug those holes “way back then” and the stuff is still alive. *wistful sniffle*
Crepe myrtles? Wisteria? Lantana? Gather ’round for a sec. I just wanted to say…I love you guys.
Plus, I really like the smell when you trim it back. Kind of a lemongrassy scent.
Plus, I enjoy the fact that whenever I look at the stuff, I seem to get “Smooth” stuck in my head…
Nice picture. Well done. See to it that next time the pool boy does a better job scrubbing the grout before the next shoot, though. Maybe even steps it up a notch and bleaches it. Good help is so hard to find these days…

Oooo SNAP
My daughter loves Lantanas becasue they attract butterflies.
We also planted two idiot proof knockout roses that mysteriously survived my handling of them and some really nasty storms.
Man, I may yet have a green thumb
