Michael Offers A Political Strategy To Obama — Smile For The Camera July 23, 2009

Dude, smile for the camera. You are too often caught in pics where you look grim.
Flash a big grin! You have nice teeth, Barack. Show them!
This is why your health care legislation and your cap-and-trade energy legislation are in trouble.
I watched your press conference tonight. You look too serious. You need to smile more. Not just a serious-looking grin — show teeth.

That had to be the worst decade ever. Nixon, Watergate, Disco, Jonestown, and Patty Hearst. Can you think of a worse decade in terms of domestic politics and culture?
Of course not. This guy I know even wore polyester leisure suits. No kidding. Looking back, I can’t believe how dorky he looked.
Fortunately, he avoided an even bigger fashion mistake.

Hey, have we all seen the new Harry Potter movie, yet? I haven’t, but my three oldest kids have, and they said it sucked. They went to the midnight showing Tuesday night dressed in their Harry Potter outfits and were very disappointed that the movie left key parts of the book out, and added crap they said didn’t belong.
But they liked this, so here you go:
A Couple of Budget Type Questions July 20, 2009
Posted by geoff in News.3 comments
I seem to recall President Obama telling us that he was scouring the budget looking for savings. And I recall that all he was able to find was $17 billion in cuts – and those were cuts in the proposed next year budgets, not cuts from the amounts spent this year. So I ask you this:
How come now he can find savings worth $31.3 billion/yr for the next 10 years?
And with the economic situation we’re currently enjoying:
Why not just make the cuts and leave the increased spending for when the economy is healthier? Why are these savings contingent upon his health care plan? Can’t he start saving right now?
Unfortunately, I have a deep and abiding confidence that making the cuts independent of the health care reform package will never occur to this administration.
