Wiserbud cracked me up today. That’s kind of newsworthy, I think. Channel  your inner redneck and enjoy “Call me Febreze.” (Big hair and red bell-bottom alert)

Unbelievable how the technology has changed. Scenes that thrilled me as a kid now just look campy.

It’s cool that they give you a peek at how CGI works today, making all the old gimmicks like the blue screen obsolete.

For some reason I started singing this song in the shower this morning.

A few minutes of Googling and I found this gem to brighten your day.

Here’s something for your Evening, IYKWIMAITYD.

The fact that the ‘Band’ consists of a Bass player and a Drummer (who plays with his hands), is something I didn’t appreciate until I watched the video.

A Green Liberal Makes Sense August 18, 2009

This is truly breathtaking — the guy who invented the Whole Earth Catalog and worked in the administration of Jerry Brown in California.  Now he is talking sense about the whole earth.

Never mind that he has drunk the Anthropogenic Global Warming Kool-Aid. He otherwise is so focused on facts and practicality that it gives you a new ray of hope.  He speaks out for nuclear power and genetically engineered crops.

Some libs are capable of serious and practical thinking.

Thanks to A Goy and His Blog, who apparently linked us for some reason that I cannot find, but that’s how I stumbled across this lecture.

By the way, Stewart mentions the limitations of solar power (as a green alternative to nuclear), due to the limitations of battery technology.  The answer to this problem may already have been discovered in Utah by these guys:

We look like geeks, but we kick ass!

We look like geeks, but we kick ass and will change the world!

Their company, CoorsTek, has an interesting history.  It is owned by the Adolph Coors brewing dynasty, and now specializes in highly advanced ceramics.

I like Stewart’s comment at the end of his lecture, where he states the Whole Earth Discipline:  “We are as gods, and have to get good at it.”

It’s a fundamentally Christian concept:

Then God said, ‘Let us make man in our image, in our likeness and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth and over all the creatures that move along the ground’. (Gen. 1:28)
