There’s a sappy intro segment about her personal struggles with celebrity. You can skip forward to 2:55 if you’re not interested, when she starts singing. She is going to seduce you again when she does Wild Horses, slowed down, to really bring out mournful essence of the ballad.

Well, not really “soul”, but these guys were rocking the house around the same time that Michael Bolton was digging up Otis Redding’s grave & pissing on the coffin.
I remember hearing this song on our campus radio station the week it came out. It was a lot like the first time I listened to “The Joshua Tree”. Sort of a “WHOA, what the hell is THAT?”

I’m sorry, but I’ve got to do this. Otis recorded this song before I was born, but that doesn’t mean that it’s old and tattered. It is STILL the definitive version of his song. No amount of whiteboy-soul permullet-loving boosterism will convince me otherwise.
It’s one thing for Otis to “lose his song” to Aretha, but I will not aid and abet Michael Assclown Bolton in taking another song from him.

I just checked out the late Benazir Bhutto’s book “Reconciliation: Islam, Democracy and the West” from the library. As I was leaving, I noticed on the back of the book that it is strongly recommended by Nancy Pelosi, Ted Kennedy, Arianna Huffington, Joe Biden and Madeline Albright. Sounds like this one will be right up my alley.

He left for college last Saturday. Called me once. The conversation:
Boy: Can you take your name off my bank account?
Me: I guess so. You have more money than me anyway.
Boy: OK. Thanks. Talk to you later.
Me: Wait. How are you? How is your house? Are you scared at night?
Boy: It’s fine. I’m not scared. We have roaches, but I just work around them.
Me: Roaches?! Are you…
Boy: It’s fine Mom. Gotta run. Love you. Bye.
I miss his loud, stinky, dramatic presence. But I don’t miss the drum set. It’s going to take awhile to get used to this.

Seriously, I like guns. I like booze. I like near nekkid awesomeness as much as the next guy. But this is wrong on a bazillion levels.This guy violates damn near every safety rule going, and deserves to best deleted from the genepool, post-haste.
