I’m voting for any candidate who supports U.S. withdrawal from the United Nations.
After withdrawal, we should form our own international coalition of worthy allies, by invitation only to relatively advanced, democratic and non-corrupt nations in order to collaborate on matters of mutual interest. We should call it the League of Worthy Nations, just so everybody who was not invited understands how we feel about them and why they were excluded. They could form their own coalition, to be called the Global Alliance of Nations that Suck (GLANS for short), so that they have a forum to hold conferences where they can whine about us and produce white papers saying we owe them money.
I think I’ve floated this idea before.

The other stupid part of Obama’s statement (one of the other stupid parts, anyway) is that the US was not at all disengaged from APEC or ASEAN during Bush’s term. I’m wondering if Obama’s team is smart enough to have him basically surrendering to SCO and the Chinese with these sorts of statements. “All right, you win, we’ll do whatever China wants. Just don’t pull our line of credit.”

See, when you look at a map there’s this country called Pakistan. And Pakistan has been allowing the Taliban to take refuge in their country, but forbidding US/NATO troops from following. That’s why the Taliban has survived. Not to mention that back in the 80′s the Russians had even less success than NATO.

Danial, just because the Quran mentions Jesus, Abraham, Moses, and others does not convince most of us Christians that the Quran has any value or is telling the truth. Any effort of Muslims to push the True Almighty Unchanging Triune God of Grace and Mercy aside by false-god called Allah, pushing an agenda of mathematical righteousness is just plain evil. Sorry. The Quran diminishes the unconditional redemptive work of Jesus and tries to twist the truth into a lie. Muslims are coerced into believing the lie that Jesus is a Muslim with a purpose to rally other Muslims to work for and be helpers of Allah. That is very sad trap.
From my research, surah 3:52 says something like this: When Jesus found unbelief on their part he said: “Who will be My helpers to the work of Allah? Said the Disciples: “We are Allah’s helpers we believe in Allah, and do you bear witness that we are Muslims.”
Well, that’s just a disgusting lie to the Christian. We know Jesus to be the true Son of God, born of a woman to be our Emanuel, God with us, His primary purpose is stated openly: to “seek and to save” those who are lost (Luke 19:10).
