Fire on the Mountain January 16, 2010

Posted by Michael in News.
trackback

This is my song dedicated to the Massachusettes senatorial election on Tuesday.

[Also, I'm goofing around with my new Cooliris Firefox add-on, which I finally decided to try. It is awesome.]

UPDATE below the break — a message for Martha Coakley.

Wow i haven’t even paid any attention to that one, who’s running?

2. Michael - January 16, 2010

Dang!

New York, Massachusetts, what’s the difference?

3. Sobek - January 16, 2010

SAINTS!!!

4. Andy - January 16, 2010

I loves me some Marshall Tucker Band. Allman Brothers, too.

Here’s a nice, soothing one dedicated to Martha Coakley. She’s gonna need it.

5. Cathy - January 17, 2010

Sans voca.

Love it. Thanks, Andy.

6. GrumpyUnk - January 17, 2010

I haven’t heard that Allman Bros song in a long time. Great tune and a good send off for me on the way to the ER. Thanx!

7. lauraw - January 17, 2010

Ruh-roh.

Hope all turns out well, Grumpy.

8. Pupster - January 17, 2010

Pretty sure he works in the ER LW.

9. Michael - January 17, 2010

Yeah, last I heard he worked ER. I’m pretty sure he would not pause to check IB if he was having a heart attack.

13. Cathy - January 17, 2010

This collection of comments is funnay.

Kudos, IB Scrappys.

“I’m pretty sure he would not pause to check IB if he was having a heart attack.”

See, that’s just a lack of commitment, is what that is.

15. Sobek - January 17, 2010

Nothing to do with Coakley, but the “Fire on the Mountain” title keeps reminding me of “Shadows on the Mountainside.”

16. lauraw - January 17, 2010

It makes me think of ‘Fire in the hole!’

Oh Sweet Jeebus! I’m sorry folks.
I was just going to work & was in a hurry as I wrote that and didn’t think that one through to well.
But like Eeyore says “Thanks for thinking of me.”

I guess I have to make a dumbass mistake in order to bring the funny out around here.

Whatever it takes I suppose.

18. Evil Con Carne - January 18, 2010

Speaking of sweet Jesus is that Jesus playing the Tamborine?

19. Andy - January 18, 2010

Glad to brighten your day a little there, Cathy and Dr. GrumpyUnk.

Love that tune myself. It’s Duane Allman’s only solo writing credit. Hard to beat a Duane Allman/Dickey Betts guitar duet.
