Hunh – getting here to comment was quite the odyssey.
Anyway, it’s always been a great poem, but I’m very sorry to hear that it’s particularly relevant to your life right now. Take care, Eddie, and let me know if there’s any way I can help.
Well, I’m sure that the Ohio Amish Mafia would back you as well if push came to shove, Eddie. These are “my people”, and I’ll put in a good word for ya.
Let me explain. When people live in South St. Louis, they stick together. It’s that kind of place. Even Lutherans and Catholics. If you have lived there for a serious amount of time, you belong. We raised both of our kids there. Eddie and I have taken our kids to the exact same parks.
That’s why Eddie gets some on-the-knees prayer time from me.
And, as I have pointed out before, Lutheran prayers are the best. We go straight to the Source on a broadband wireless channel with unlimited spectrum. We don’t route them through a saint, where your prayer might get hung up in a server farm that is overloaded with spam.

Hang in there, buddy.
Awkward man-hug for Eddie.
I just read that poem for the first time in my life about a year ago, and it affected me in some powerful ways also. Hang in there.
Great words from a great man… including you, Eddie.
Hang in there and know you’re loved.
Hugs.
Good stuff Eddie
Best regards
Eddie, if it’s a zombie problem, I can be in St. Louis in 8 hours.
If it’s something else, drop me a line if you need to talk. Best wishes, amigo.
Damn sockpuppet!

It’s not zombies, Russ, although zombies are always an issue. If it were zombies, the problem would be solved by now.
I’m sure Eddie appreciates the offer anyway.

I hate to tell you this, Michael, but, unfortunately, you couldn’t be more wrong.
GET THE FUCK OFF MY LAWN
Dark Times suck.
Eddie, prayers are headed your way… maybe they can thumb a ride along with Michaels’ prayers as they pass by!
