10 Tips for Managing your Weight with Diabetes
As much as I loathe them, I think I prefer diet and exercise.
Since I’ve been exercising regularly including Zumba, I’ve lost 15 pounds in 2 months.
One motivator was the reward of a Body Massage, offered by Mrs. Geezer.
Here’s an announcement from Lutheran Airlines
It’s audio only.
Geoff, I am assuming you have diabetes. And an iPhone. If so, check out what my Company makes: http://www.ibgstar.com. Should be “live” here in the States by Q1 ’12 at the latest. We also have a free app in the iTunes store that you can log/track your BGM readings. Just do a search for “WaveSense”, and you can find it.
Any questions, shoot me an email.
Geoff, I am assuming you have diabetes.
I, very fortunately and gratefully, do not. But I know there are others in our little community who do, so thank you for the info.
ZUMBA!! I love it too.
Geezer we’ll have to do the Cumbia next time we hang out.
Having found out that I had diabetes 3 years ago, I made an immediate dietary and lifestyle change.
Gone were the Pepsis, pastries, and Snickers… in were salads, meat, and veggies.
In 2 months I had my diabetes & cholesterol totally in control and in 4 months I lost 60 lbs (bad side affect was I had to buy all new levis and belts. Went from a 36 to a 32)
Because I have diabetes, I decided I would rather lose the crap I was eating rather than lose a leg or my eyesight.
Mr. Minority is out on parole!
j/k, Good to hear from you again!
Yay for Mr. M!
Geezer we’ll have to do the Cumbia
Is that the one where you do the figure-8 moves with your arms, in front of your body?
We did a Ghostbusters dance yesterday and during the Halloween Yoga/Pilates class we danced the (modified) Napoleon Dynamite dance.
*geezer sticks his scrawny chest out with pride*
Mr Minority!! It’s been years! Hope things are going well.
Mr Minority,
Where have you been, you insufferable jackass?
People — be careful.
Mr. Minority may be a zombie by now. Hopefully, a slow zombie that we can kill with a garden shovel.
Hopefully, a slow zombie that we can kill with a small woodwind band instrument.

Mr Minority!
*dances the Cumbia*
Is Cumbia in central or south America?

I thought it was what they sang at those OWS protests.
At our Zumba exercise class, we do Cumbia, Mambo, Salsa and others.
Oh yeah, at the end of each class, we do Hava Nagila. Each verse increases in tempo until you’re just flying across the room.
I suck.

*shoots geoff point-blank in the chest with a shotgun that shoots long, exaggerated groans of exasperation*
Hey Dave started it.
In sort of related news, I just cancelled my Men’s Wearhouse emails. In the box asking for the reason, I put, “I can’t shop with a company that supports the OWS movement.” Like Ed Morrissey, they are now dead to me.
What, Men’s Wearhouse was sending wool suits and silk ties to the hippies?
So, is Whole Foods ok to shop at now that they have Victim Cred?
They closed their Oakland store yesterday to show corporate solidarity with OWS.
Corporate solidarity or fear of being firebombed if they didn’t close?
Based on the photo and their Facebook page, I believe that it’s corporate solidarity.
Turns out they got vandalized anyway.
*adds Whole Foods to Teh List, right under Ben and Jerry’s*
You can’t trust vandals. They all tricky.
Yes, I live, and No I am not a Zombie (I don’t like brains or want to bite people….at least not today).
I took a hiatus from blogging and commenting because it was taking time that I needed to spend with the spousal unit. Her health has not been the best and I felt that I needed to spend more time with her, while we have it.
My health is good (other than the diabetes, which I have way under control. I amaze my endocrinologist every time I visit her), I still have a job (but wish I was retired) and I miss ya’ll.
Keep healthy and having fun.
