Anyone Can Blog ~ Commenting Is Hard
I don’t think this was intended as an allegory for the Obama Administration, but . . .
I think Geezer should do 5,000.
After all, he started this thing.
Well, you guys work it out and let me know when you’re going to put it up.
RG is the only important person on this site.
Consider –
1. RG is the only person I know who has achieved a small measure of fame in Finland. That ain’t easy. Finland is a frozen little wasteland uneasily situated amongst Sweden, Russia, and Germany. Their national habit is to be inconspicuous.
2. RG has seen more nekkid females than the rest of us put together.
I rest my case.
This video made me laugh. Loved the commentary.
It reminded me of the time a buddy and I snuck into a neighboring ROTC dorm during summer camp one evening. We turned off the circuit breakers to their rooms, then turned on the lights and radios in each room. In one room we left the lights off and put a floor buffer in there with the handles taped closed.
Then we hit the circuit breakers and ran for our lives.
Apparently the floor buffer made quite an impression.
squirt lighter fluid under a dorm door and light it.
bang on door.
fun.
OR.. even better.. fill an album cover with shaving cream. Slip open edge of album cover under door. Stomp on it.
That shit will go everywhere in the room.

You’ll get thrown out of Baylor.
It’s never just one thing..
but yeah, that was one thing.

In college, we used to take a trash can, fill it with water, and then prop against an unsuspecting door. Then we’d knock on the door, and duck around the corner.

Album cover? What’s that? Something that keeps your photograph collection protected from dust?
(JK, I’ve done this myself “back in the day”, but since Gabe usually never delurks here I figured I’d say it for him)
The charming thing about LPs is that you were listening to an analog recreation of the real performance, not a computer doing digital sampling. There was a turntable, an album, a stylus and needle, all of which required maintenance and would wear out over time.
Also, I used to walk to and from school every day, in the snow. It was three miles uphill each way.
Barefoot? While keeping wolves at bay with a sharpened stick…..because firearms hadn’t been perfected yet?
I’ve been turning my parents’ old LPs into MP3s. Hadn’t used a turntable in years; it’s kind of fun, if inconvenient.
That’s a great idea, Geoff. Since I’m at my parents’ house I’ll have a look around at their LPs.
Dad has some German records from the 50s that are fun to listen to.
And hi everybody!
Barefoot? While keeping wolves at bay with a sharpened stickā¦..
I just poked the wolves with the sharp end of my clarinet. I kept my reeds razor sharp. Those wolves learned the hard way to keep their distance from a kid with a clarinet.
Speaking of wolves, I took Mrs. Geezer to a ‘first run’ movie. Normally we wait until they hit the $2 movie theater but I took her to see The Grey.
Pretty intense.
Just from the impressions I get from the trailer, I thought that movie might be either a sequel or a prequel to “Taken”. From going to IMDB just now, I see that it’s not; however the picture of Liam’s wife that they show quickly in the trailer looks a LOT like Famke Janssen (who played his wife in “Taken”)
Famke was awesome in Golden Eye.
