Amen. Great 5,000th main page comment.
Congratulations Michael. I hope your next 5,000 are twice as profitable.

I’m glad Michael posted the 5000th post, since he’s done most of the work and heavy lifting.

When I was a little kid in Hartford in the 70′s, there was a business off-downtown. Fried chickens and transmissions were their game.

ok OKAAAAY. My shit was silly.
That was a really neat video Michael. I grew up watching Bob Phillips do these things, from way back in the early 70s when he did a bit called “4-Country Reporter”, he was with a CBS affiliate in Dallas, KDFW. “4″ was channel 4 on the TV dial, back then Dallas had 3 major network stations and a couple of UHF broadcasters. Hard to believe, back in the days before cable.
He’s been doing these “Texas” stories for 40 years.
My posts were a lot of well-researched silly shit.
Indeed they were.
However, I claim top honors for getting an Instalanche and a link from Protein Wisdom and a link from Wizbang for one post, our best traffic day ever. I really worked on that post for more than ten minutes (The Poverty Brand™).

Also, Geoff, your posts have never been linked by Japanese porn sites, because you overlooked the traffic potential of Swedish bewbs. I did not make that mistake.

I haven’t thought of this one for years, but now that we’re “riffing” on Marty Robbins, here’s one of the funniest things I can remember from the old days at SNL. Or maybe it was just on a TV special. Anyway, Steve Martin & Monkeys:
