A Slightly Different Perspective than the President Seems to Have February 16, 2012

This is at least as fair as Obama’s claims that he’s responsible for turning the economy around (it’s prettier if you click on it):
Hey America! – that landslide election of Republicans in 2010? The one that created the 112th Congress?
You’re welcome.
*Some graphic artisty type person should spruce this up and get it into circulation.

Yeah, the labels for ‘total Dem-held Congress’ vs. ‘R-held House’ need to be added to that.
I started trying to do that, but my attempts at sorting out the Dem Senate/GOP House vs. Dem Senate/Dem House just looked, well, like ass.
So I left it and decided to pray for divine (or at least artistically inclined) intervention.
But I did cleverly color-code the bars to reflect the different compositions of the Congresses. Way cool, huh? Didja totally notice how awesome that was? Huh?
Here you go. Actually, Photoshop is a lousy business graphics program (I don’t have a vector program any more), but when in doubt MAKE STUFF BOLD.
Or should that say “House” so we don’t have to deal with the Senate control?
Thanks, S. – your stuff always looks awesome. I did want to distinguish between the House & Senate, but see Comment #2. If there’s a tidy way you could do it, that’d be great.
Also, I was wondering if there’s a way to get this message on the chart itself:
Hey America! – that landslide election of Republicans in 2010? The one that created the 112th Congress?
You’re welcome.
Not necessarily those exact words, but that sentiment.
Any onlookers with thoughts, please chime in.
How about “Thanks for giving us the House in 2010. Imagine what we could do with the Senate and the Oval Office, too.”
Hmmm.
I pimp this to Slublog, maybe he can whip something up.
Maybe “Congratulations on giving the GOP the House in 2010. Imagine what 2012 could bring.”

WHAT? OH! HI!
WEASEL!
How’s the weather in England?
Never mind. I know it sucks.
My theory is that England became a great maritime nation, and empire, because everybody there wanted to get out. Now they all retire to Portugal.
That’s also why the English are the world’s most fanatic gardeners.
