Sorry this is off topic, but all of you folks who were hoping to get the nod as Press Secretary when I’m President will just have to set your sights on something less prestigious:

“The Triumph of Civetta” is one of my favorite sculptures.

3. michael - April 28, 2006

It looks like Civetta actually screwed that poor horse to death. I mean, she’s nekkid for Pete’s sake!

4. Civetta - April 28, 2006

It’s a good thing I’m so even-keeled, otherwise I’d give you two knuckleheads a real talkin’ to…and I’m still considering it so tread lightly you bunch o’ dingleberries!

5. kevlarchick - April 28, 2006

I think you look gorgeous Civetta.

6. michael - April 28, 2006

Yes, KC, she does — but damn! That horse is in bad shape. I don’t care how hot she looks, it’s not worth dying for.

7. The Horse - April 28, 2006

Yes it is.

8. kevlarchick - April 28, 2006

I don’t think the horse is dying. I think it’s…something else entirely.

9. Russ from Winterset - April 28, 2006

didn’t Shakespeare refer to “it” as “the little death”? Or maybe that was just in an earlier edition of “Stuff Jefferson Said”. I get them confused sometimes.

10. Bill Shakespeare - April 28, 2006

wuzn’t me dood

I’m having trouble figuring out that statue.
What’s that thing on the left? A Porpoise? … A Testicle Tentacle?

12. harrison - April 28, 2006

I think it’s some sort of fish/whale diving through. It’s part of a large fountain in front of the Thomas Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress.

13. Mrs. Geezer - April 29, 2006

Well than, there should be a quote of something Jefferson said, nearby, right?

I wonder what it could be…

It’s part of a large fountain in front of the Thomas Jefferson Building of the Library of Congress.

Enscription:

Sally rides me just like this.  Oh yeah.  Ride, Sally, ride!

 Stuff Jefferson Said, 3rd ed., p. 243.

15. Wilson Pickett - April 29, 2006

That is the best statue I’ve ever seen. But dang, someone needs to slow her down!

that not a sea-monster diving,
that pony ‘monster’ rearing up.

*WHINNY!*
