You, Me, and the DNC July 30, 2006

Is it any conincidence that You, Me, and Dupree comes out, and then Cindy moves in?

Crawford- Anti-War Activist Cindy Sheehan is going to become a neighbor of President Bush, and local residents are not happy about the mess.

She does know that there’s not a shop selling smoothies in town, right?

Personally, I’m thrilled. For anyone who has lived in a small, Southern town, the fun is just about to begin. Her masochistic, woe-is-me attitude will go over with her new neighbors like a lead balloon. And she will confront good-ol-boy intransigence and stubborness like the Howard Dean would not believe.

Last fall, McLennan County Commissioners passed an ordinance, banning parking on roadways and other traffic and crowd control measures.

Anyone want to set the over-under for her leaving?

The best part of this, but really not overly important, is that she used deception to buy the property.

Peace Supporter, Gerry Fonseca, says he purchased the 5-acre parcel, which cost more than $52,000. It was bought with the money frome her son, Casey’s, life insurance policy.”I doubt they would have sold her the property if she tried to buy it herself,” said Foncseca.

“I feel deceived,” said Celia Ramsey, who sold the land to Cindy Sheehan through a third party. She talked to News Channel 25 exclusively on the matter. “I would have never sold it to Sheehan. Nobody wants them here.”

Cindy, a word of advice: deception doesn’t hold up well with new neighbors. Neither does politics-as-icebreaker. And neither does 10,000 cars and world-wide focus.
We can only hope that Crawford holds you to any other publicly-declared fasts.

The neighbors already thought she was a shit head.

This little stunt, while legal, won’t change their minds.

Sure we lied, but its FOR THE GREATER GOOD!

“I am very sad it came to this point where we had to buy a permanent home,” said Sheehan. “I thought President Bush would have resigned by now. But I am happy about a permanent home in Crawford.”

She… thought Bush would have resigned by now. Because of the anti war movement. These people really are delusional. It’s unsettling.
