18 Times As Filthy March 28, 2007

Posted by rightwingsparkle in Websites.

No, I’m not talking about Michael…;-)

From NRO: (a real shocker!)

It is worth recalling that the explosion of vulgarity, cruelty, and viciousness that the Web is mostly a phenomenon of the left. Hugh Hewitt linked to this informal study that shows left wing sites are 18 times as filthy as right wing ones.

Oops. Wrong site.

2. geoff - March 28, 2007

Ace posted on this back when the study came out. He swore to do better in the future and close the profanity gap.

3. Dave in Texas - March 28, 2007

I think we’re gonna have to go nuclear if we’re ever going to bridge this gap.

We need Johnny Coldcuts.

4. Sobek - March 28, 2007

I think the conservative reticence to use profanity in ludicrously excessive quantities is what’s really causing the culture gap between right and left.

5. rightwingsparkle - March 28, 2007

Don’t worry Sobek, our youth will step up to the filthy plate. (They are really really good at it!)

I guess I missed this at Ace’s. Of course this doesn’t take into account the nastiness. I mean Ace will use cursing to make jokes, but on the leftwing websites I have read they use it to be mean and ugly.

6. kevlarchick - March 28, 2007

Filthy potty mouths are nothing new. It’s the youths’ job to keep it fresh and shocking. That’s where most slang originates, which I follow closely. Slang is the evolution of language.

Cusswords serve as mighty swords when the time is right. I know I like a sharp one now and then.

It has its place–the Web is the new forum for it.

7. Rightwingsparkle - March 28, 2007

I wonder now that the “f” word has gotten so commonplace what people will say to be shocking? I mean it was always the ultimate bad word.

[Asst. Site Administrator Note – I fished this out of the f’n spam bucket for you]

8. geoff - March 28, 2007

Here’s the AoSHQ post.

9. Michael - March 28, 2007

By the way, yesterday I upgraded my DSL line from 1.5 Mb to 6.0 Mb. It’s fucking awesome!

What were we talking about?

10. kevlarchick - March 28, 2007

FuckinA Michael.

11. Bosk - March 28, 2007

Heck, Just go to ANY left-leaning blog, read ANY comment section in ANY article and you will find stuff that will just blow you away.
Those people are seriously deranged.

12. Rightwingsparkle - March 28, 2007

I guess my last comment got eaten.

I was wondering, now that the “F” word is so commonplace, what will be the word to produce shock now?

13. Sobek - March 28, 2007

“now that the “F” word is so commonplace, what will be the word to produce shock now?”

I find the phrase “I’m a conservative Republican” does the trick.

14. geoff - March 28, 2007

The “N” word replaced the “F” word some time ago, but now inroads are being made against it, as well.

15. eddiebear - March 29, 2007

I have found that many on the left believe that the volume, shrillness and nastiness of their words (and posts) correlates to the righteousness (in their minds) of their causes. Call it the Rosie Olbermann Maher Theorem. As a result, being an absolute retard on the air is OK, for it serves a “higher purpose”.

Also, the people who cover the media (critics, reporters and opinon shapers) generally share the same metanarratives as the blue bloggers, so they see nothing wrong in the words and deeds of their fellow travellers. As a result, they see nothing wrong with burning effigies of U.S. Soldiers and posts at Kos and DU taunting Tony Snow.

Wow! I didn’t know I had it in me to write something halfway logical. I need to go back to my suck-a@# site and look for stories about Scottish farters.

16. eddiebear - March 29, 2007

What I find sad is that those in the African American community who do try to speak out against the “N” word by their own (Cosby, Juan WIlliams as two examples) are mocked.

17. Feisty - March 29, 2007

I guess my last comment got eaten.

Who says rightwing sites aren’t dirty?

18. Dave in Texas - March 29, 2007

what will be the word to produce shock now?

That oughta peg the meter!

Michael, that was disgusting, man. Have you no shame?

26. kevlarchick - March 29, 2007

Boys and Lipstick!

*stalking over with bar of soap*

27. Retired Geezer - March 29, 2007

Here, This will take their mind off it.

Ooooh Rahhh

28. Michael - March 29, 2007

Two sneaky fakey gimmick plays in a row. Just what you would expect from Spudders.

29. Retired Geezer - March 29, 2007

*big grin*

I don’t need to ever watch another football game. Nothing could beat that game.

Even the IB Wimmins will like this.

Sorry, couldn’t help myself

30. Michael - March 29, 2007

Dang, Geezer, I hate to admit that your video moved my pulse rate. I could like that team, if they weren’t filthy stinkin’ Spudders and all.

That must have been just about the best lateral in college football history. It was one of those moments of brilliance that make sports so rewarding.

31. Retired Geezer - March 29, 2007

I could like that team, if they weren’t filthy stinkin’ Spudders and all.

Yeah, we try our best to conceal it from the public.

Here’s how much of a sports fan I’m not:
If you gave me the city, I couldn’t name the team. I would come up with a guess from many years ago. Oakland… Raiders?. Brooklyn… Dodgers?
I couldn’t tell you the names of 5 NFL QB’s. John Denver Elway?
I think even Bart is starting to pity me.

So with that cred, let me tell you that I have never been so excited at watching a sporting event, even when UNLV won the Final Four.
That game had everything. The best part is how it looked hopeless at 3 different times. I even bought the DVD of the game without the commercials. There are a bunch of special features including watching the game with the hometown radio announcers calling the game.
They are going to make a movie about the game/season. It might be called “Out of the Blue”, (kind of a cute tie-in to the Bronco Stadium Blue Turf).

32. Dave in Texas - March 29, 2007

Part of me loved seeing OU take it in the shorts like that.

33. Dave in Texas - March 29, 2007

However, let me show you how it’s done.

34. Mrs. Peel - March 29, 2007

I’m so glad it’s almost time for baseball. I’ve missed it.

You know what else is awesome? This commercial.
