I found this while shopping online this morning:

It’s amazing how much ammo prices have gone up since this time last year.  While cleaning up the basement last night, I found a copy of Shotgun News from December 10, 2007.  They had an ad on the cover for .30/06 Greek surplus at $149 for 480 rounds in clips & bandoliers, and 440 rounds of 7.62x54R Bulgarian surplus in a “spam can” for $49.  These prices are currently at least $250 and $80, respectively.   If I really wanted to feel old, I’d go out to the garage and dig out an old copy of SGN from the mid-90’s, when they were selling Mosin Nagant 91/30 rifles for $29.95 plus shipping.   If this keeps up, we’ll be lucky to find ANY surplus ammo on the market in a year or two – so buy early and often while you can.

We also took Moses in for another photo shoot Friday night, and our photographer called this morning to tell us that his pictures were done.  I swung by her studio to pick up the CD on my way to pick up a paper & an order of biscuits & gravy from Hardees.

And finally, since I haven’t posted any musical selections lately, here’s my favorite Stones tune of all time.

OK, OK, one more.  Here’s the Stones with Brian Jones playing the marimbas on the greatest misogynistic anthem of all time, except for maybe Guns & Roses’ “I Used to Love Her”.

I’ve got to admit that Social Distortion’s cover of this song kicks the hell out of the original, but they didn’t have Brian Jones on the marimbas, so there.

Regarding the ammo and gun stuff:
Supply and demand.

Why would/should the dealers cut prices right now?

Oh, and Moses is cute.

If I had to choose a favorite it would be this:

The first one. I like the second song a lot as well.

Looks like Moses field dressed old Piglet.

By the way, I’m supposed to be getting ready for church. Stop forcing me to think about the Rolling Stones and ammunition.

I just want to touch Moses’ little face and make ooglie-googlie sounds.

Now, see, it all comes down to the question of whether they are the SLOW zombies, or the FAST zombies, right? Cuz, I’m thinking for the slow zombies, a good .203 or .308 will do the job, cuz you don’t really need the rate of fire, because you’ve usually got the time for the well-aimed shots.

Now, the fast zombies, well, they’re a littel tougher to hit on the move, and so maybe something more in the vein of a MP5 or something. Less stopping power, but good at closer ranges, and you can really lay down the lead when the little bastards back you into a dead-end alley.

Yes, that baby needs his little cheeks pinched something awful.

Aren’t most zombies, by nature, slow?

The hell with choosing between the fast and slow zombie threats: just get yourself a ZF-1.

I believe this subject was discussed at long, long length at Ace’s. IIRC, the conclusion was that there are only slow zombies and certain film makers’ assertions to the contrary are heresy and bad for the genre.

And then it devolved into a string of ridiculous one word comments.
