Chuckwagon Breakfast June 26, 2009

Posted by Michael in Food.

Genyoowine West Texas Cuisine by Jerry Baird.

The best part is, Jerry commercialized the work he did on the West Texas plains at his chuckwagon, and now sells it nationwide on the internet.  You can buy it here.  Right now, at this very moment, there is a 15% off sale on Jerry’s Gift Pack.

That’s the American way.

BTW, Jerry is right when he says that West Texas is “quiet.”

That’s because it is some of the most butt-ugly and boring terrain in America.  Worse than the high plains of eastern Colorado, in my opinion, and that’s saying something.  If you have ever driven though there, you won’t want to go back.  It does not even have the stark beauty of an actual desert.  It’s just plain butt-ugly and boring, and it’s big.

Just stay out of there and order some of Jerry’s spices to connect with the Old West.  I did.  I went for that Gift Pack on sale.

BTW, if you have a Citi credit card and have registered your account online, you can go to their website and download an applet that gives you an icon in your systray that you can click on to automatically generate a one-time-use-only credit card number to use online.  It seamlessly links to your account, but it only works once for the order you are entering.  This vastly enhances the security of online shopping with a credit card.

When flying from Vegas to El Paso, I look out the window and this song comes to mind:

OK, I just ordered the gift pack.
