Right now, this is what is getting me through some dark times:

Hunh – getting here to comment was quite the odyssey.

Anyway, it’s always been a great poem, but I’m very sorry to hear that it’s particularly relevant to your life right now. Take care, Eddie, and let me know if there’s any way I can help.

2. lauraw - April 29, 2010

Hang in there, buddy.

3. skinbad - April 29, 2010

Awkward man-hug for Eddie.

4. Gromulin - April 29, 2010

I just read that poem for the first time in my life about a year ago, and it affected me in some powerful ways also. Hang in there.

5. Cathy - April 29, 2010

Great words from a great man… including you, Eddie.

Hang in there and know you’re loved.

Hugs.

6. Vmaximus - April 29, 2010

Good stuff Eddie
Best regards

7. The Ohio Amish - April 29, 2010

Eddie, if it’s a zombie problem, I can be in St. Louis in 8 hours.

If it’s something else, drop me a line if you need to talk. Best wishes, amigo.

8. Russ from Winterset - April 29, 2010

Damn sockpuppet!

Well, I’m sure that the Ohio Amish Mafia would back you as well if push came to shove, Eddie. These are “my people”, and I’ll put in a good word for ya.

9. Michael - April 29, 2010

It’s not zombies, Russ, although zombies are always an issue. If it were zombies, the problem would be solved by now.

I’m sure Eddie appreciates the offer anyway.

10. Michael - April 29, 2010

Let me explain. When people live in South St. Louis, they stick together. It’s that kind of place. Even Lutherans and Catholics. If you have lived there for a serious amount of time, you belong. We raised both of our kids there. Eddie and I have taken our kids to the exact same parks.

That’s why Eddie gets some on-the-knees prayer time from me.

11. Michael - April 29, 2010

And, as I have pointed out before, Lutheran prayers are the best. We go straight to the Source on a broadband wireless channel with unlimited spectrum. We don’t route them through a saint, where your prayer might get hung up in a server farm that is overloaded with spam.

12. Yahweh - April 29, 2010

And, as I have pointed out before, Lutheran prayers are the best.

I hate to tell you this, Michael, but, unfortunately, you couldn’t be more wrong.

13. Cthuhlu - April 30, 2010

GET THE FUCK OFF MY LAWN

14. TXMarko - April 30, 2010

Dark Times suck.

Eddie, prayers are headed your way… maybe they can thumb a ride along with Michaels’ prayers as they pass by!
