Thanks to ScottW for a link to a heartwarming and inspirational video that comes from a tiny Muslim fishing village in Southern Thailand. The village mostly floats beside a striking island called Koh Panyee in Phang Nga Bay.
There is only a tiny bit of flat ground, and most of that is occupied by a mosque. The rest of the town floats on the water. They have a couple of great seafood restaurants that cater to tourists who are viewing the awesome scenery of the bay by boat. (You have seen this area in movies like The Man With the Golden Gun, Cutthroat Island and The Beach.) Thus, Cathy, the kids and I happened to have stopped here for lunch in the mid-1990s. Given the lack of land, you can imagine that starting a soccer team was a problem. There was simply no place to play. Hence, the following story:
