I thought it was Prince Philip of Sleeping Beauty fame, the one I get to read about every night at pj time.

I heard he was quite the playa back in the day. He looks very handsome with all his brass jangling.

In the eighties, on a bus tour of London we were driving past the side of Buckingham Palace and the guide pointed out the spikes on the top of the fence surrounding the palace.

Ladies and gentlemen, those spikes are not to keep the public out but rather to keep Prince Philip in…

Lipstick, there is only one reason I put up with you, and it’s not your big feet or pretty face.

BTW, I got an interesting email from Doug about this post.

According to Wickedpinto, when Queen Elizabeth ascended to the throne during WWII, Prince Philip threatened to cancel their engagement and live as a commoner if he was removed from his combat assignment on a ship of the British Royal Navy.

I have not verified this story. Doug says it’s included in the Wiki entry for Prince Philip. I’d like to think it is true.

She became queen in 1953.

They were married in 1947.

17. Michael - May 24, 2011

Jeez, Harrison, it was a good story until you fucked it up with facts.

18. The Lovely Janis - May 24, 2011

Michael, Would you really beleive something that Wickedpinto quoted from Wikipedia?

19. harrison - May 24, 2011
