Was This The Pass That Won RG III the Heisman? October 26, 2012

Could be.  After years of being OU’s bitch, Baylor made em cry.

*full disclosure, I was kicked out of Baylor after 2 years, and it wasn’t just my shitty grades

Also, there is arithmetic in here.  Sorry.  Promises get broken from time to time. Tough titty said the kitty.

I remember that. When OU called timeout to keep Baylor from running out the clock, I remember thinking “God please make this come back to bite them”. And he answered.

Iowa State plays Baylor tomorrow night. They couldn’t give me a win against Gabe’s team last weekend, so maybe they’ll make up for it by beating Dave’s team. At least they won’t have to defend RG3 this year.

It’s going to be a cold one (below 40° with kickoff at 6pm), so I’m thinking that Mo Money will be lucky to last until halftime. At least the bus is heated.

But we will hates tomorrow night. Just sayin

I saw the title of the post and thought “Retired Geezer’s grandson won a Heisman?”

I’m just glad Baylor can go back to being OU’s bitch again.

Baylor has a lot of offense this year, no defense. They need a win in Iowa today. Except for Kansas next week the rest of their schedule is a bitch. OU, K State, Tech and Oklahoma State. Hard to believe a 3-3 team is still in the top 25, especially after gettin humbled by TCU.

And yes, I’m very sure OU fans would just as soon forget all about this pass.

Pretty detailed breakdown of that play in the link.

Pretty detailed? Jeebers, it was a doctoral dissertation.

Pretty amazing though, an off the left foot 56 yard pass, within the 7 foot range for Williams, with one and a half defenders. And Casey Walker hammered RG III after the release.

That’s pro QB material. Except he better stop running or some other fast monster NFL DT is going to kill him.

MOSES MADE IT THROUGH THE WHOLE GAME!!!! First time this year he hasn’t had to go back to the bus in the parking lot, or down to the grassy hillsides to play with his toy construction equipment in the early 2nd half.

When he asked me “is the game over yet?” at halftime, I told him that since we were having a “guys day” (grandpa & I were there, but mom stayed home to do some work), and today was a “big boy day”, I needed him to make it through the whole game so that Daddy could watch the whole thing. His answer? “OK”. That’s my boy.

Moses had a little toy jet & a toy helicopter with him, and late in the 3rd quarter a little girl sitting in front of us asked Moses if they could play. He was so excited. They both played with his toys, and then she broke out an entire freakin’ Barbie Set (complete with a bed, dining room table & chairs…I kid you not), and it was funny watching her slip a little Barbie dress on Mo’s jet plane & tuck it into the Barbie bed.

Oh, and the game? It was good. That Baylor QB is no RGIII, but he’s hellaciously cool under pressure. And that Williams at WR is a witch.

Iowa State has a pass defense. Well done sir.

Reeves at cornerback has been a giantkiller all year. People still score on him occasionally, but he’s knocking down more passes than he allows. The height difference on Saturday was noticeable (about 6’2″ vs. 5’9″), but he stepped up and performed.

Of course, if your D-line and linebackers can get some pressure on the QB, the secondary looks a LOT better.

When I say that Nick Florence is “no RGIII”, I don’t mean that as a slight. RGIII is a physical freak, and replacing him is a tall task.

I was very impressed with Florence’s field sense. He looks a little ungainly dropping back & setting his feet, but once he sets up he’s usually already found the open man and has the ball on the way ASAP. If you just watched film of him taking the snap & dropping back, you’d say “What a GOOBER!”; however if the only thing you saw was his release and the pass headed downfield, you’d have to say “What a STUD!”

“What a STUD!”

I wish I had a nickel for every time I heard that

He has been playing very well for my ‘skins…..His accuracy and poise are exceptional. His QB rating would be higher if his teammates could catch the ball when it hits them in their hands.
