Skin Damage from the Sun August 19, 2014

A depressing-ish video showing skin damage due to sun exposure; damage that isn’t apparent to the eye, but is readily seen in the UV.

On the one hand, you want to enjoy the sun and get your requisite Vitamin D dose every day. But on the other hand, sheesh.

Geoff, that was an awesome public service video.

How fun!

Not sure little freckles all over one’s face or body are ‘damage.’ Depends upon what you consider damage, I guess. The increased pigmentation is caused by additional melanin concentrations — and those can be a very good thing to protect your skin from getting burned IF you are in the sun much. And some folks can freckle up and will never get skin cancer. Others are more prone to it.

The really bad cancer stuff — melanoma — I think the root cause comes from what is going on inside — how you eat and whether your body is properly processing and eliminating toxins. Docs don’t tell you that.
