No duh:

Nuclear power is the greenest option, say top scientists

Nuclear power is one of the least damaging sources of energy for the environment, and the green movement must accept its expansion if the world is to avoid dangerous climate change, some of the world’s leading conservation biologists have warned.

We’ve been saying this for decades, just like we’ve been saying:

It is too risky to rely solely on renewable energy sources such as wind and solar power for replacing fossil fuels because of problems to do with scalability, cost, materials and land use, they explain.

…which is why we didn’t have much use for President Obama’s super awesome green energy cure-all agenda, which was supposed to usher in a new age of prosperity.

It’s not like we don’t support green energy – we certainly do. But we’re waiting for market signals to tell us when it’s truly economically viable. Until then, trying to push green technologies into the marketplace is premature.

Vermont just decommisioned their plant with ripples ($$$) expected to affect the entire Northeast region.

I remember taking a nuclear power seminar in college, where the instructor told us about environmentalists’ strategy to tie up nuclear power plants in court for a decade or so, so the projects would die from the interest accumulating on the huge construction loans.

Clever strategy, but terribly damaging to the environment.
