Anyone Can Blog ~ Commenting Is Hard
This one will be number thirteen. It’s starting out conventional (albeit very small), but I’m going to try something at the end that will either look really, cool, or else totally ruin it.
As always, click to embiggen. You can see all of my pencil marks in there, which looks kinda lame.
Back when I used to do art things, one of my pet peeves was receiving critiques when the job was just started, or half-done.
So, like let’s say you’ve invested a few hours into something that is going to take weeks, and that means things are in the beginning. They are rough and sketchy and you don’t have the final medium up there yet.
But you have to listen to someone who walks up saying, “those pencil lines are too rough and sketchy,” and “this is supposed to be done in oil.”
Man, I hated that.
It would be my pleasure to duplicate the experience for you.
That ruler really distracts from the composition. That was a bad choice by you.
I would really encourage you to leave the ruler out of the final piece, if you can remove it without breaking anything.
Those super-faint lines look like they should be a part of the work, but they are too faint. You should either darken them, or spend ten minutes explaining their temporary presence, which I will not understand.
Actually, now I’m kind of warming up to the ruler. It’s good. I ‘get it.’ You are very clever.
Leave it in there.
I love the “Caption” caption as well. Very deep. It really makes me look at captions in a new way.
New Superhero name: Captain Caption… Wordfighter!
You should add an optical inch.
The lack of airplanes or dinosaurs is really starting to bug.
That sketch of the ruler at the bottom is amazingly life like.
The rest of the sketch is very nice too.
Regarding the sketch of the ruler; are those Metric numbers along the bottom?
If there are any hidden triangles, could you highlight them for Geoff?
I thought he drew the ruler. Some kinda art thing
This is what I see when I close my eyes.
Don’t close your eyes.
(Looks like broccoli to me.)
Pretty sure if you use a ruler it’s not ‘Art’.
If that’s true, Random Guy, I’m going to have to re-name all my old posts.
Very cool gif, Buffalone.
“Pretty sure if you use a ruler it’s not ‘Art’.”
That’s what his wife said.
It makes a mother proud
