Manufacturing Jobs Continue to Defy President June 6, 2015

One might be forgiven if they couldn’t tell the difference between the chart showing manufacturing jobs, the chart showing electric car sales, and the chart showing exports. They all look the same. The President makes some huge promise that he has no power to keep, and subsequently fails miserably.
Today we get to watch him continue to fail to add 1 million manufacturing jobs by September 2016:
387K jobs added, versus ~650K jobs promised.
Particularly surprising, given that you’d have thought the rebound from the Great Recession (made all the greater by the President’s policies) would have been enough to restore a million jobs. But the President’s reverse Midas touch seems to kill off any part of the economy that catches his eye.

Why are data points so racist?
I ran some numbers from the Bureau of Labor and Statistics on minimum wage – the numbers surprised me, as did the graphs. Fact check, steal and/or re-post if you like. http://tackyraccoons.com/2014/09/07/the-lies-about-minimum-wage/
That’s interesting, but we need to reconcile your conclusion that raising minimum wage doesn’t affect employment with Political Calculations’ conclusion that it does. Therein might lie a new gem.
