I tried to put this in a comment, but couldn’t get it work, so here’s my take on Sobek’s calculus problem from the previous comment thread (it’s been 30 years since I did derivatives, so this could be off the rails):

Crap. I haven’t read through your work yet, but I just realized one thing I’ve been doing wrong for several days. I was treating c^t as though c were a variable.

Why didn’t anyone tell me calculus was this hard?

Sobek, this is pretty arcane stuff for derivatives – you need to move on to integrals.
