Because Sobek is the Boss of Me August 6, 2015

Posted by geoff in News.

I tried to put this in a comment, but couldn’t get it work, so here’s my take on Sobek’s calculus problem from the previous comment thread (it’s been 30 years since I did derivatives, so this could be off the rails):

I was told there would be no math.

Crap. I haven’t read through your work yet, but I just realized one thing I’ve been doing wrong for several days. I was treating c^t as though c were a variable.

Why didn’t anyone tell me calculus was this hard?

I miss Michael. Just amusing myself, thinking of what he would have said about this post.

Yeah, me too.

But I’m sure he would have been nothing but absolutely complimentary about this post.

Totally sure.

Thanks, Geoff. Finally figured out what I was doing wrong.

I see a definite resemblance of those ^ thingies to Triangles.

That’s all I got.

Sobek, this is pretty arcane stuff for derivatives – you need to move on to integrals.

I’m almost there. Just have to finish the current chapter.
