Kerry Claims He’s Brought Us to the Brink of Disaster August 11, 2015

I think Secretary of State Kerry meant this to be a little less self-incriminating than it actually is:

During a discussion hosted by Reuters on Tuesday, Secretary of State John Kerry said if the United States rejects the Iran nuclear agreement, the U.S. dollar would not be the world’s reserve currency.

“That is a recipe, very quickly, my friends, businesspeople here, for the American dollar to cease to be the reserve currency of the world, which is already bubbling out there,” Kerry said.

So how, pray tell, did we get to the point where the American dollar’s status is at risk? Didn’t we have sanctions before without risking the dollar?

Why yes we did. But now John Kerry says he’s put us in a situation where we can’t have sanctions without seriously injuring our economy.

He’s pretty much saying he should be fired for gross incompetence.

Looking at this post, I didn’t quote the part about how reimposing sanctions will be the mechanism by which we alienate our fellow countries and end up losing the dollar’s status as reserve currency.

But y’all are smart and probably connected the dots anyway.
