Parkinson’s Plea November 12, 2015

Posted by Retired Geezer in Heroes.

We received an email from a friend who has Parkinson’s. He and some other friends who also have the disease, made a video for the Doritos Super Bowl commercial contest. It’s pretty funny. If you like it, please ‘rate’ it. If it is shown in the Super Bowl, they will get a Million Dollars which they are going to donate to Parkinson’s research.

Dear friends and family,
This is Richard Herdegen.  A couple of months ago I began working with some friends on a contest that Doritos has sponsored for the last 10 years called ‘Crash the Superbowl’.  This contest invites contestants to create a 30 second video for Doritos.  The winner has their ad shown during the Superbowl.  Oh yah, did I mention a cash prize of $1,000,000?  Our ad is a little different than the typical contestant’s ad.  Our actors all have Parkinson’s.  Well almost all, we also had about 12 high school drummers helping us.  Our entry in this contest has two goals.  1) Any and all money we might win will go to Parkinson’s non-profits who we believe will put it to the best use.  2) We are attempting to raise awareness of Parkinson’s.  Our video is a start.  Sometime this winter we will work with other institutions to educate people on this nasty disease and possible try our hand at fundraising for Parkinson’s.
So I am asking you to click the following link  and enjoy our ad.  Then vote by clicking on the ‘Rate Now’ at the bottom of the screen.  Diane is sending this same message on Face Book.  Please consider sending this message out with your favorite social media tool.

Richard is the main guy in the blue shirt. My friend Bart is in the black t-shirt.

Here’s a nice article about the fused glass mural that he made for St. Lukes Children’s Hospital.
