A Brief Review of Deadpool February 12, 2016

Very vulgar and very funny. Hard to hear some of the lines (particularly in the first third of the movie), so I’m going to have to buy the Blu-Ray to watch it again with subtitles. It was that funny. Archer funny.

Good action and, well, really funny.

I wonder if there are any microagressions in this movie.

Surely geoff would have mentioned trigger warnings.

Sooooo . . . by “vulgar” I probably should have said “non-stop, over the top, raunchy, bordering-on-pornographically vulgar.”

I saw the RedBand trailer a few months back. Never heard of the character before but the trailer was hilarious.

Archer was funny, until my conscience caught up with me. Not sure how I’d feel about 2 solid hours of that. But I saw the same trailer as Geezer, and it did look interesting. I’d never heard of him, either.

Looks like everybody else is liking it too:

The R-rated “Deadpool” has taken the box office by storm, annihilating records with an eye-popping $135 million from its first three days in theaters, according to comScore estimates Sunday.

The Fox film, which stars Ryan Reynolds as the foul-mouthed superhero, easily trounced last year’s record-setting $85.2 million February debut of the erotic drama “Fifty Shades of Grey.” It also became the biggest R-rated opening ever, surpassing “The Matrix Reloaded,” which opened to $91.8 million in May of 2003.

And it only cost $58 million to make.

Mrs. G and I went to the 10:30 show last night. It was mostly full of college age kids, probably because it was around $6 admission.
We enjoyed it and laughed out loud a few times. I liked Colossus and Teen Goth Angst Fireball (probably not her real name).
I recommend it if bad words don’t bother you.

Pride and Prejudice and Zombies kicked SO MUCH BUTT!
