A Simple Solution to the Transgender Bathroom Problem May 24, 2016

Just replace the signs with “XY” for the Men’s room and “XX” for the women’s room.

I think a lot of the (manufactured) problem is that libs have changed the meaning of “gender” so that it no longer equals “sex.” Then they look at the sign on the door and fret that the sign doesn’t reflect their inner being, even though the sign was always a simple sex differentiator, not a gender (new definition) differentiator. Changing the signs makes it a simple biological definition.

The other argument is that transgender folk want to go to the bathroom with the sex that most aligns with their “gender.” But so do the majority of people, so why should 0.3% of the population get to force their preferences on the remaining population?

My daughter, a fervent high school social justice warrior, tells me that I shouldn’t care who’s in the bathroom, but then, why should transgender people care either? She then says we should bend over backwards to accommodate transgenderite’s preferences, because they suffer disproportionately from depression and suicide.

To which I think, “That’s great, our public policy is being defined by people with mental health issues.”

But I guess that’s nothing new.

Where will the Turner Syndrome (XO) go?

At 1 in 2000 women they have a greater claim than the transgendered to their own bathroom.

And then there’s the XY people with complete androgen insensitivity – they lack the hormone receptors that would have triggered their embryonic forms to develop male structures- and thus become females by default.

I have a solution for you. Make the walls meet the ceilings and floors. No more open stalls. Everybody gets a private room.

Most trans are not aggressive perverts. But giving actual aggressive perverts a legal pretext for accessing ladies’ facilities is a recipe for disaster. Some men have *already* invaded ladies’ gym locker rooms and showers and claimed to have a right to be there, even though they were not trans. All they have to do is say that they feel female.

All this is leading to the violation and destruction of women’s security and privacy. Not to mention, when boys are allowed to compete as sham ‘girls’ in sports under Title IX, that will be the end of genuine women’s sports.

I have known several transgendered people. They are mentally ill. Some can be quite nice, no doubt of that. But wanting to cut off a part of your body is a hallmark symptom of mental illness. They do have higher rates of depression and suicide. These are also hallmarks of mental illness.

I wish them well, and by that I mean I wish they would find someone to help them get well, instead of being misled by this social fad that has captured even many professional therapists.

Sorry about your daughter, Geoff. She’ll grow up and see things differently.

I’m so glad my younger kids went through home schooling. They skipped all the SJW bull crap along the way.

The exceptions that prove the rule, I suppose. I see that androgen insensitivity affects 2-5/100000, meaning that at most we have 5700 in the US. In my opinion, if they don’t got parts, they ought to default to the ladies’ rooms, just out of practicality. But again, this is a medical situation, having nothing to do with their “gender” identification.

Those are great, but rare because they’re more expensive (ventilation is trickier and the current booths are cheap & reconfigurable) and people abuse them (you’d never be able to go to the bathroom in a bar again, what with shenanigans and carrying-ons in these private rooms).

…instead of being misled by this social fad that has captured even many professional therapists.

Kind of reminds of the lipstick lesbian fad in the 90s.

Yeah, no matter how much they embrace liberal ideals in school, kids raised in a conservative household often become their parents when they hit about 30. It’s what happened to me as well.

A. I don’t want dudes in my bathroom because I’m a rape survivor.
B. You’re going to have to get over your hangup for the common good.

Can you spot the hate speech?
