Poof! Goes the Promise October 7, 2016

Posted by geoff in News.

Jobs report is out. Nothing much to see here: the crawl toward recovery continues.

But to raise your interest level, there’s always the fact that the 4-year wait is finally over. President Obama’s promise to add 1 million manufacturing jobs within 4 years has officially been broken:

Seeing manufacturing jobs struggle like this is saddening – the only amusement value comes from seeing the president’s hubris and his followers’ faith given an overdue exposure to reality.

I’ve been plotting those manufacturing jobs numbers for 4 years. Here’s the first post I wrote on it.

I’ve been following your posts with interest over this time. Being held accountable for promises doesn’t seem to happen to this guy.

It’s been obvious from the moment he said “I’ll create a bunch of jobs!” and then no one asked him how he planned to do that. There was no plan. He could have picked any number at random, and 1,000,000 is nice and round.

I’m gonna have to stick up for Obama on this one.

He never mentioned which country those jobs would be in.

I’d bet he’s produced well over a million manufacturing jobs in China.
