R.E.S.P.E.C.T./Isn’t What It Used To Be December 17, 2016

Sock it to me, Sock it to me, Sock it to me, Sock it to me

Which our president never fails to do, releasing yet another jaw-dropper on the public.

With the possible exception of the minor lack of respect of this country: Pentagon: Chinese naval ship seized an unmanned U.S. underwater vehicle in South China Sea

Or this one:  U.S. Says Russia Directed Hacks to Influence Elections

Or: Venezuela names general accused of drug crimes by U.S. as minister

Or: Iran Mocks US Sailors in Revolution Day Parade

Or: Bahrain’s rulers now flout the U.S. openly

Or: Philippines’ Duterte: ‘bye-bye America’ and we don’t need your money

Or: Netanyahu turns down Obama meeting and cancels US trip

But I’m sure these guys appreciate the increased strength of Obama’s America: Obama’s Ukraine policy in shambles

And these guys: The devastation of Syria will be Obama’s legacy

How about Japan, who the US is treaty-bound to protect? Assertive Japan poised to abandon 70 years of pacifism

Or the EU? Europe needs own army, can’t rely on US forever – EU Commission President

Yep, we’re stronger and more respected, all right, if you don’t count China, Russia, the EU, Japan, Iran, the Philippines, Israel, Ukraine, Syria, Bahrain, and Venezuela. I’m sure I could find many more, but it’s already been beaten to death.

I get good feelings recalling the song by the Staple Singers, “Respect Yourself.” Family of singers expressing the source of the issue and putting it back on the individual to RESPECT THEMSELVES.

That song and that family taught me a lot.

Below video link is just a small glimpse in the ‘great game’ that I believe is afoot in the South China Sea.

If Trump manages to convince Russia to either side with the US-Japan-Aus-India alliance or stay neutral, that will be his biggest achievement in foreign policy.

We are heading towards a confrontation with China, that is for sure.
It is time for us to forget about inconsequential sideshows like ISIS, Ukraine etc and focus on the real threat.

As a side note to this, Pakistan has allowed China to build a massive port at Gwadar that will, in addition to handling cargo and oil (bound for China via. Pipeline) will be a naval base for China. This will greatly challenge US supremacy in Persian gulf and Indo-US supremacy in the Arabian sea.

India is countering that by two strategies: India is helping Iran rebuild their Chabhar port, and Iran has agreed to let India use that port and their road network to transport men and materiel to Afghanistan.
This is necessary to put pressure on China and its chief ally, Pakistan. I know, I know, Iran. How can India have an alliance with Iran? But this alliance is not aimed at harming American interests. And just like US allied with Soviets, the lesser evil (at the time) to counter the bigger evil, we may have to accept this. And American strategic community seems to have tacitly accepted these developments.

India is also helping the people of Balochistan (where Gwadar port is located) to rise up for separating from Pakistan. If that sounds far fetched, India has alreday once successfully broken Pakistan in two, and created Bangladesh.

Another example of Russia not being impressed by American strength:

Putin: Russia’s military is stronger than anyone’s
