I’m a new, big fan of a clown. It’s not that I find that terribly surprising–I’m not creeped out by clowns, I just don’t really think about them one way or another. Anyhoo, as many time-wasting link-clickers can attest, the Wide World of the Web is chock-full of click bait. And I’m pretty good at ignoring it. But I have clicked a couple of America’s Got Talent videos recently. There’s a deaf girl (Mandy Harvey) who did a great job singing an original song. You can find it if you’re interested. Then, a few days ago, I clicked on something about a clown that brought the house down.

This guy:

If you haven’t watched it, I recommend it:

So, he has a great voice, and the sad clown persona gives him license to really play on the emotion of the song. He’d be good just as a regular guy singing, but the clownness turns it up to 11 in my humble opinion. I didn’t really like the Sia version of the song, but I like this one. I binge watched a lot of videos and there are several of him doing the Lorde “Royals” song, and, same thing, I like it and can understand the lyrics when he’s singing. He does a lot of covers that are fun, but there’s a video of him doing a show and he’s got some kind of homage to Kevin Costner going while singing “We Don’t Need Another Hero.” I think it’s hysterical.

I’d like to see his show. Vegas in October is possible. I’m guessing this is one cat R.G. has never done the lighting for, but that would be cool if he had.

Great article. You had me until I watched the video. Like it was good and, but it was like Sia on Broadway. Like sad ham sandwich with mustard flavored cheese πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚. Much respect for the article tho. You really sold it.

Good post, Skinbad. I’ve watched Puddles before and really like him.

Haven’t done his lighting yet but I did do the lighting for the Comic Con costume contest tonight.

Oh and fun Trivia; The little girl in ‘Waterworld’ (We don’t need another Hero video), is the girl who played Napoleon Dynamite’s girlfriend.
