One of them is a baby elephant.

Inspiring, Sobek!!

Recently taken up sketch pads, pencils, paintbrushes, canvas, and gessoboards again. The outcomes are not for public… yet. But you’re inspiring me. Thanks.

Do you work from photographs?
If so… Yours? Others?

4. geoff - October 4, 2018

I do love me some elephants, and those are some fine-looking specimens.

5. Sobek - October 4, 2018

I work from photos, almost always stuff I find on the internet. The picture of camel riders in the desert from two weeks ago is one I took.

Time to move on to the big leagues ==> Godzilla!!

Sadly, the annual Godzilla Xmas ornament release seems to have been discontinued.

Sobek, I’ve been working from my own photos. I’m exploring the ‘Alla Prima’ method with oils right now and having a blast.

My current ‘work’ which I hope to have done before Christmas, is of son Andrew about 15 years back when he was a cook on internship in Cape Cod. The painting teacher likes how I got started and wants me to share it with her when I’m done.

I don’t think I can post stuff here anymore, otherwise maybe I’d consider letting y’all have a look before I make it a Christmas gift and mail it off.

My sympathies, Geoff.

*sigh*

Nicely done. There aren’t any babies, so I guess I won’t link the Baby Elephant Walk accompaniment.

9. Sobek - October 4, 2018

Email it to one of us and we can past it.

Thanks, Sobek. Will do.
