Living in the Past Don’t Sound So Bad June 27, 2020

Kind of liked this “kids in the car” thread from an ancient post (Does Game Violence Make Teens Aggressive? December 10, 2006). It didn’t make the “Classic IB Comment Threads” list, so I thought it was worth resurrecting to provide a bit of relief in these dark times.

Miss seeing a lot of the commenters on the old post

Yep. Fortunately many of them went on to better things.

Definitely hilarious

It just keeps going like the Terminator…sorta reminded me of another old thread where the theme was the naming of USN ships based on who’s the least deserving (eg, the “USS Whitney Houston”). No one could stop chiming in.

Amazing time capsule

USS Paul Anka. Everyone would, of course, get shirts.

Some funny, happy memories.
Michael… Lipstick… Harrison… Kevlar… Compos… Wiser… Brewfan… BTW Brew is alive and kicking. I emailed him a few months ago.

I should point him to this thread.

I was looking up some old posts and ran across this one from 2010 where I rag on you (heh heh):

RG LInks++

I was struck by how much I’ve changed my style since other authors dropped off. I used to write more pithy posts (no, I’m not lisping), but since we don’t have the entertaining posts by lauraw, DinTX, Michael, etc., I’ve moved to a more breezy, conversational style.

The move was also motivated by Twitter & Facebook, which have catered to short attention span media consumers.

That was my seekrit way to get you inspired to post some “intelligent, chart and Calculus filled screeds to keep our traffic up.

Exhibit Alpha: The Chart!…

Didn’t some big news organization steal your chart without credit?

That wasn’t the original Chart. The original was the unemployment chart
