COVID cases hit their peak in early January, but are now on a very encouraging downslope:

The trend is encouraging. I’m not certain we are comparing the same thing given the changing definition of a case based on changing the criteria for a positive test. Deaths are easier to track, but from what we’ve seen with the shifting political winds and the timing of vaccine releases, willingness for Amazon to distribute vaccine and acknowledgement the HCQ actually works, the classification of the cause of death can be manipulated too.

Yeah, the data has its (very serious) weaknesses. But most of the data issues inflate the numbers, so seeing the numbers go down is a great thing.

It’d be interesting to see an overlay of the number of tests available per unit number of ppl over time. The thought being as testing became more prevalent it follows that numbers will increase. If the overlays track then rate increase is valid if not then correlation is off.
