So we should have a gene study at diagnosis and before entering into a treatment plan! I’m sure my doc would do that, and my insurance would pay for it. Sure.

The disconnect in medical treatment between what we know is the right thing to do and what actually gets done is enormous. I learned about gene studies and how important they are for getting meds right, and then proceeded straightaway to work in the field, where no doctor ever orders them or even cares about it.

OK I went back to read the first post on the subject. I like this idea that the part of us that is the Neanderthal part is the part we blame for all our vices. Built-in scapegoat! So convenient!

Not only does being part caveman affect pharmaceutical metabolism it also factors into how easily you can switch your car insurance

Heavy Neanderthal Inheritance would be a good name for a paleo-rock band.
