Happy Sunday
haha! I like this better then Caturday.
GLAI! Good one, Sobek.
Kid bragging; youngest passed her Red Cross Lifeguard certification on the first pass yesterday. Pulled some goober out of the water that weighs as much as me (217 if you’re curious).
She also told her mother she got to give CPR to some hot guy, and her mother was not supposed to tell me that.
Congrats to your youngin’ Dave.
CPR on a hot guy … a memorable experience.
And good on that Lifeguard thing too.
The Hun is either at your throat or at your feet.
lolhuns?
I don’t know…it doesn’t really…go.
Maybe cats dressed as huns would work.
I was about to link to cats with helmets…but I don’t want a Kimber’s bullets making holes in my clothes.
^
Good decision.
UPDATE to kid bragging: Moses came home from the hospital this afternoon. He’s up to 4 pounds, 6 ounces (over a pound over his birthweight from almost 3 weeks ago), and he’s been eating about 50 plus cc’s at each feeding. The nurses said that a feeding for a kid of his weight should be 35 cc’s, so he’s apparently got Dad’s appetite. Maybe it’s got something to do with the Marie Sharp’s Belizean Heat I started slipping into his formula the other day.
All the nurses told us they’d miss him. The nurse today told us that the nurses in the NICU all sign up for patients they want to care for as their “primary” each shift, and Moses has consistently been one of the first to go each shift since he arrived. I did not realize that. I just thought that the hospital rotated the nurses between patients to keep them familiar with all the families in case of emergency, but I guess Moses had quite a reputation among the nurses.
We had some of the in-laws come over yesterday and help us get the main floor of the house spic & span for the Big Mo. We got all the hidden dust bunnies, all the cat hair, and all the cat toys that Bob & Hilton have lost behind the furniture over the past couple of years. The cats aren’t sure what to make of Moses yet, and just a few minutes ago, they were sitting on the floor looking up at Janis rocking Moses to sleep. I just know those freeloaders are going to try to slip into his crib in the middle of the night to curl up with him as he sleeps, but Janis wouldn’t let me “McGyver” up a chicken-wire cover for the crib to keep them at bay. Bandit’s still on an extended vacation with his running buddy Jack out at my parents’ place, or else we’d task him with Crib Security.
What a relief it must be, finally being able to bring him home and start life again. Congratulations and good luck.
Oh Russ, that’s great news pal.
The lord of the manor is in his digs.
I can’t wait to hear about arguments over car keys.
All goofin aside, congrats to you and Janis.
The cats aren’t sure what to make of Moses yet . . .
So shoot them. Problem solved.

Russ, Glad your little guy is home. Great news.
I’ll let you in on a little secret, big guy. The Nurses pick the patients on the Families they have.
Doesn’t matter how cute the kid is, if the parents and family are a bunch of friggin’ demanding, trash ass zombie shitheads? It’s like being the short fat clumsy kid when picking basketball teams.
You and yours must be ok. Again, so glad that y’all are getting along at home. And stay away from the bacon.
Congrats, Russ et al.!
Wow, Russ, great news indeed!
It’s got to feel great to have the little man Moses home at last.
I’m so happy for you guys.
Enjoy this special time. There’s nothing like it.
