It appears that Round 2 of the protests in Iran may be starting up. The Jawas have footage of some of the activity taking place, including protesters rushing the gallows in an attempt to free prisoners about to be executed.

***WARNING*** Some of the footage is graphic.

Keep these folks in your thoughts and prayers.

Bless these people because our government is doing fuck all to help them.

I drove past a small street-corner protest in Malibu yesterday, calling for freedom for Iranians. I would have liked to have joined them.

I cannot believe that we are not officially supporting these poor people. It is completely outrageous. And embarrassing to be honest.

I also believe that if it were up to one, big, nationwide vote, Americans would vote overwhelmingly to support them, at least through peaceful means. It is really only our media and our governing body who chooses to ignore it. Notice they don’t make the case against helping, they merely ignore it.

Hell, when I was at a U2 concert a few months ago at the Rose Bowl, they lit their stage up green and sang “Sunday Bloody Sunday” with photos of the Iranian protesters on the big screen and basically called on the US to do something. The crowd was going crazy about it. And that was a mostly liberal LA area crowd. If U2 and a California audience can cheer fanatically for the Iranian Green movement, then I guarantee you that the rest of the country feels AT LEAST as strongly.
