I never thought of a Cello as an exciting musical instrument. I ranked it just below the Glockenspiel but about 14 points above the Clarinet.
This video changed my mind.

I blatantly stole this video from my Blog-Mama, Sondra K.

Dang. I watched that three times in a row. It was awesome.

*feels bad about the Clarinet slam

That is a bad ass song. MJ nailed it, and Alien Ant Farm did a rockin version. Killah base.

Both those boys are adorable. It’s so cool to watch musicians feed off each other’s energy. Love it.

It’s not as cool as a drummer and a bass player.

And it’s not feeding so much as willing the other bastard to burst into flames.

Or, you can walk outside and see if your petunias are any bigger.

Many moons ago, I saw Lyle Lovett’s Big Band live. The band really was big, with 12 people on stage at once, including a cello player.

He did an ass-kicking solo and got a standing ovation at the end.

If you had told me that morning that I’d see a cello player with a modern band from Texas get a standing O, I would not have believed you.
